Day-4: When in Kyushu [Mass and FKK Tower] ⛪️🗼

Day-4: When in Kyushu [Mass and FKK Tower] ⛪️🗼

Sunday, 25 June 2017. And you know what it means!!^o^)/

And if you don’t, it means me going for a Mass. It’s a regular thing I do, but it become more interesting if I do it during my holiday abroad and see how the locals do it. (´。• ᵕ •。`)

But before that, woke up late this morning, both of us now too hungry and need brunch urgently. We were looking for Haru chan’ recommendation about a local hakata ramen restaurant at JR Hakata city, called Shin Shin. The restaurant located at the 2nd Floor, Ramen Street. And you have to stand in line to enjoy the ramen. (;⌣̀_⌣́)

Nope. We’re both too hungry to queue for a ramen. So we walked around the Ramen Street area, and found another ramen restaurant. Still crowded but no queue. This called Hakata Ichiban Ramen (not ichiran!)

Satisfied with our brunch, we went downstairs to the Ground Floor to buy our second batch of おみやげ。I also bought a long dress–typical Jap’s dress, because I only had shorts and short jumpers in my luggage. Please remember to bring your own bag when you shop at the supermarket Japan. Some of the supermarket will charge you ¥50 for a plastic bag.

With 4 plastic bags in my hand, I couldn’t move easily. And we forgot our portable wifi at Naho’s. So we decided to walk back to Naho’s, put down our shopping bags, grabbed the portable wifi and went to the church. The church was walking distance from Tenjin Station. You can visit my other blog, catholico, 👈to know how to get there. (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b

But if you’re not interested, let me take you to our next stop; Fukuoka Tower. \(^ヮ^)/

We walked about 500~600m to the bus stop, and took bus #W1 to Fukuoka Tower. This was the last stop of the bus. From this bus stop, we can go to Fukuoka Tower, Robosquare, Fukuoka Library, Fukuoka Museum, Momochi Seaside and Fukuoka Yahuoku Dome.

The bus stop us in front of Robosquare Shopping Mall. The Robosquare itself located at the 2nd floor of the shopping mall, and it closed at 5PM. It was already 5:15PM when we arrived there. So we walked pass to the back door of the shopping mall and proceed to the tower’s park, took some selfies here and there, then proceed to buy the ticket and went up to level 123. \(^∀^)メ(^∀^)ノ

The tower‘s opening hour is 9:30AM ~ 10PM. Admission fee is ¥800 for adult, ¥500 for senior and students, and ¥200 for children below 4 years old. But there was 20% discount for foreign visitor. (*^ω^)人(^ω^*)

Fukuoka Tower, designed by Nikken Sekkei, claims itself as Japan’s tallest seaside tower, with 234m tall from base to the tip of the tower. The triangle tower made with 8,000 one-way mirrors often referred as “Mirror Sail”. With the underground weights 25,000 tons and above ground weights 3,500 tons, this tower’s structure is stable and can withstand earthquake up to 7RS.

At the 1st FL, there were gourmet and shopping zone. But what we saw was one local restaurant very quiet in the corner, and 2 souvenir shops. At the 2nd FL was multi-purpose hall, we didn’t go there. What they called as 3rd FL was actually level 121, was a Lover’s Sanctuary. Here you can buy a “love lock” and lock it around the tower. Up to the 4th FL, actually level 122, was a Sky Lounge. I guess you have to make reservation before you can have meals here–you need to check with the ticketing counter at the ground floor. And the highest floor, 5th FL or level 123, was the observation deck.

From the ticketing counter at the ground floor, the staff brought us up straight to level 123, the observation deck. The deck itself wasn’t too big, and for someone who already visited quite a number of tower buildings, for me this observation deck wasn’t too impressive. If you’re looking for a breathe-taking tower, you should check out my previous blog in Gold Coast, here.👈

But here at the observation deck, there was a giant ramen bowl where I jumped on the giant chopsticks and took picture. I also took another fortune-telling and paid for ¥100. And again, I wasn’t very lucky. That’s why I don’t really believe in fortune-telling, they never predict correctly. I consider myself as a very lucky person to be able to go many holidays with my own money. ♡ ~(‘▽^人)

After about 15 minutes at the observation deck, we took staircase down to the 3rd FL or level 121, took some pics at Lover’s Sanctuary while waiting for the elevator to pick us up then went back down to the ground floor. (ノ´ヮ`)ノ*: ・゚

We both starving and couldn’t find any interesting food around the tower and at the Robosquare Mall as well. So we decided to go back Tenjin Mall. We took bus #77 in front of the Robosquare Mall to Tenjin Station.

Got lost at Tenjin Vivre for almost an hour, we then walked to Tenjin Core and finally had our omurice dinner. The omurice wasn’t as superb as I expected even with a hungry belly. But at least we had our dinner and went back after the shopping mall closed at 9PM. We took subway back to Hakata Station, and walked to Naho’s. ヽ(o^―^o)ノ

And that’s it for today. Tomorrow we’re going to Nagasaki for Kimono and the Bomb Museum. It will be another long and fun day! o(≧▽≦)o
