HaveFun Karaoke @313 Somerset 🎤

After lived in Singapore for more than 4 years, I knew that booking a ktv on Thursday night for Friday slot is impossible. But what to do. Me and my colleague was craving for a ktv, we need to sing all these office-stress away.

We remember we saw HaveFun ad on FB couple of days ago. They opened a new branch at 313 Somerset. So we decided to walked in to the 4th floor. It was located next to the famous Chinese hot pot restaurant (it’s famous for their long queue!). The small black entrance was hidden from the hallway. That’s why you really need to turn after the Korean Dessert, to that hot pot resto.

HaveFun is a family karaoke place in Singapore. Currently they only have 2 stores at 313 Somerset and Bugis Junction.

For someone who loves to sing in a wide variety of English and Indonesian songs, this place was a disappointment to us. In the end me and my colleague sang only old English songs — Unbreak My heart (Tony Braxton), There You’ll Be (Faith Hill), Sugar Rush (A*Teens), Doctor Jones (Aqua), you named it. They were not really updated with new songs. Let alone with Indonesian songs. My colleague said they need to update Malay songs too and there was not even a single Thai song. However we could not give any comments in Chinese songs as none of us follow Chinese musics.

Accoustic effect was above avarage. The microphone works fine with a good vibrato, speaker was smooth and there was no bad echoes in the room. Space wise, the smallest room could fit up to 6 or 7 people. And for someone graduated in Architecture, I had to give applause to their interior design–it was clean and modern! The room comes with song selection panel which was easy to operate, two microphones, one tv screen, one tambourine, board game, disco ball and wifi. Bigger rooms also have standing mic, darts and pool table! However food and drinks was average and nothing special.

Price! There was only 2 of us and it was on Friday night, we paid it per pax. It was $51++ for 2 persons, 2 hours, including 2 soft drinks. It will be cheaper with more people and pay per room instead of per pax.
